[ExilesAnnounce] May Program May 15th Leather Families

Join us for the May program on May 15th at the San Francisco Center for Sex
and Culture, 1349 Mission St, San Francisco.

 

As many of us can attest, the very structure of how nature forms families
can be pretty dysfunctional. Two people who often don't know each other very
well produce offspring and everyone spends the next 20 years in therapy. 

 

Those of us who have chosen to be a part of a larger chosen community called
Leather have watched as Families have formed. They can be a place where
awesome things can and do happen. But like any family, sometimes it's like
herding cats on crack. 

 

Come and discover some of the various reasons why one may want to be part of
a Leather Family, the various ways they can form or be formed, and
responsibilities and benefits of being in such a Family. We will also
discuss some of the pitfalls to be aware of along with problem-solving tools
to keep the fun in this functional dynamic. 

 

This will be a tripartite program with a short time of instructive and
entertaining "lecture", a chance to hear from some or all (hopefully all -
see herding cats above), of one such Leather Family and a time for Q&A. 

 

Doors open at 7:30, program begins promptly at 8 pm.

Lady Raven's Bio: 

 

Lady Raven Bren has been an active member of the Bay Area Leather Community
for the past eleven years. She has been active for many of those years in
Exiles, Dykes on Bikes, attending Leather Conferences and learning more day
by day how to live this thing called The Leather Life. The Master/slave
dynamic and the Spirituality of Leather is at the heart of her practice.
Lady Raven identifies as a Feminine Dominant and Benevolent Sadist.  She is
kinky, poly, witchy, and queer and continually in a process of expansion and
discovery. Her Leather Family includes two slaves, one former slave, three
other Dominants and apparently everyone switches now and again. yeah, it's
complicated sometimes.

The Exiles is an educational group for women and those who identify as other
than male who have a positive personal interest in BDSM between women. The
group provides educational events in the San Francisco Bay Area where women
with all levels of experience will have a safe place to meet, explore and
share information about safety, play techniques, and resources, and connect
with the leather community locally and nationally.
