Neither Val nor I will be able to attend tomorrow's business meeting, so I wanted to provide an update about the Exiles' commitment during the QWOCMAP film festival.  I apologize for not being in communication with you all about this since.......um, anyway.
 
I went to the community partners meeting last week, received the CP agreement, schedule, and guidelines.  The following is information about the CPs' responsibilities.  In a nutshell, if you approve of my message below I will send it to the announce list (if I still have permissions) seeking a minimum of 4 volunteers.  I also would like to meet with someone to pick up our banner between now and the 13th.  As with the last couple of years, I'd like to recommend that Val and I be the speakers unless someone else really wants to do it.  Oh...sh#t...palm cards.  I just thought about those.  Dammit!
 
QWOCMAP usually starts the run on palm cards.  I think it's probably too late to try and get some together in time for the film festival, but perhaps we can hand out the remainder of last year's cards plus some business cards.  This will at least give basic info about the organization plus an idea of what our programs entail.  I'm sorry I didn't think about this sooner.

The Exiles will once again be a community partner with the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) film festival.  The festival runs from Friday June 13th through Sunday June 15th at the Brava Theater in San Francisco's Mission district.  The Exiles is one of the community partners sponsoring the Friday night showing.
 
Taking a cue from Marilyn's post about Leather Alley, we are looking for four volunteers who would like to staff the Exiles table and/or be a floater throughout the theater.  Call time is 6 pm and the films end around 10:30 pm, but any amount of time you'd wish to be there would be greatly appreciated.  Volunteers receive a laminate that gets you free admission into the opening night party and the after party.
