[ExilesAnnounce] Elections Tomorrow...

Exiles Members,

To err is human, to…  There has been a foul-up around the ballots and nominations.
You may be wondering why you only recently received the ballot for the election of our 2013-2014 officers.

This is due in part to the fact that many of the officers were on the board for the first time this year, we were not completely versed on the articles and we failed to follow the procedure outline. Officers were supposed to be nominated at the February meeting. We didn’t do this. The good news is that our Articles allow for a final nomination at the March meeting, and we’re hoping that you, the membership, will show up and help us move the elections along the best path to success.
 
If you are interested in running or nominating someone else for an office, please plan on attending the March meeting to do so. If you are nominating another, please assure that that person be present to accept the nomination. We’re hoping the elections will continue and we will elect a full board, and that forgiveness is the order of the day.
 
If you’re not able to attend the March meeting but still want to nominate someone, please contact the Co-Coordinators ASAP by sending email to cocos at theexiles.org.
 
Note that the following requirements apply to any officers:

·         To be eligible for Co-Coordinator, Membership Officer, or Treasurer, the person must be an Exiles member who has attended a minimum of 3 of the last 6 regular business meetings.

·         To be eligible for Recorder, the person must have been an Exiles member for one year, or has to have qualified to become a voting member at business meetings (which means having attended 2 of the last 4 meetings). 



Again, apologies for the failure to follow the Articles. We hope this election results in a strong and dynamic board, and that the Exiles will thrive and present you with new and interesting programs and events in the coming year.
