Dossie Easton, author, therapist, and honest-to-Goddess switch, and Rae Goldman, community activist and equally eager switch, will delve into the mysteries of the often controversial phenomenon in BDSM called switching. Many have heard of the existence of the elusive switch, and some even claim to have played with one (or two or three ...), but still the existence of the switch is often hotly debated. Can you be a real dom, a real sub, if you want to do both? How do players structure relationships around multiple roles; how do switching relationships balance their input and output? Dossie and Rae, two proud switches, will share how it works for them, and how it has worked for many other people. They will dispel the myths about their lives and their versatile play, explain why they and others switch, describe the many ways that switching can work, and offer advice to aspiring switches and switch-seekers alike. The evening will include opportunities for
participants to put these ideas into action and try on new roles in topping, bottoming, and D/s. Together we will explore how you can become all that you are capable of being: why not have your cake and eat it too?

All women and those whose gender self-identity is other than male who are over 18 are welcome to our monthly programs. For more information, check out www.theexiles.org.

Join us after the program at Wicked Grounds, SF's new kinky cafe!

Presenter Bios

Dossie Easton, a long time player on the San Francisco S/M scene and well-known killer bottom, is co-author with Janet Hardy of The Ethical Slut, now in its brand new second edition, as well as The New Bottoming Book,The New Topping Book, When Someone You Love Is Kinky, and Radical Ecstasy: SM Journeys to Transcendence. She is a licensed psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and more in her private practice, and travels to teach at conferences and universities all over the country and internationally. Rae Goldman enjoys exploring the edges and margins of the world. As a queer leather switch, slut, adventurer, and genderqueer with a beard and tits, Rae presents at a variety of local and national leather events and at outreach programs to the vanilla world. A teacher by trade, he (or she – take your pick) provides participatory, experiential learning. Rae is on the Folsom Street Events board, co-curated an exhibit on leather history at the GLBT Historical Society, and is the volunteer coordinator for International Ms. Leather.
