To the Dear Friends of Jess Medina,
Many of you are aware that Medina was diagnosed a few short weeks ago with incurable lung cancer. Initially, it was thought she would have at least a few months to say goodbye to her family and friends and prepare for her transition, but the cancer progressed much more quickly than expected…Just after midnight early Tuesday morning, Medina passed on into light. She was surrounded by love as she transitioned peacefully without pain or fear.
Medina really wanted to have a big party, as she said, “an ‘anything goes’ party!” We were in the process of planning such a gathering for this weekend. A party where her friends could come and say goodbye, and help her celebrate her life. The feeling is unanimous that we should still have that party, and celebrate the life of a very special woman that touched so many lives, and gave so much to her different communities. We are in the process of setting up an online forum for people to visit and leave words and pictures. For those of you that are thinking about sending flowers to the family, instead you might consider donating to the college fund recently set up for Mateo. We will forward details soon.
So please come and share in the life celebration and memory of our dear Medina (aka Jess)…

If anyone has something they would like to say about Medina, there will be an opportunity to do so at this gathering. There will be light refreshments and beverages, but if you'd like to bring food as your expression for her, please feel free. We are seeking someone to video tape the event. We have a video recorder available, but if anyone else has a recorder and/or is willing to tape, it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact Lisa (ganges1 at mindspring.com) if you have any questions or if you would like to help set-up, decorate or bring food.
Please forward freely to anyone that would want to know about this gathering.
With much love and respect,
Cat Ondriezek for Lisa Kester
