Greetings members!

You may have noticed receiving an email recently welcoming you to a mailing
list you had signed up for.  

In case you wondered how you got subscribed to the list, this is the list we
use for announcements to Exiles members.  We used to host our lists on
Topica, but the service did not suit us for a number of reasons and so we
did not keep the Topica mailing list up to date.  We just got new webhosting
which includes the ability to host our own lists, hence this one was set up.

Here's how it works.

ExilesMembers at theexilessf.net is an announcements-only list.  It is used for
announcements related to Exiles business and occasionally other areas of
interest to the membership.  This is not a general chat list and all posts
are moderated, meaning that they are held until approved.  

Examples of things you will find on this list:
Announcements for Exiles programs and events
Calls for volunteers for Exiles programs and events
Occasional announcements for other events we believe many of our members
will want to hear about

Examples of things you will not find on this list:
Personal messages
Want ads

You will receive a monthly email from the list with instructions on how to
use the list, including unsubscribing and changing your email address.  If
you do change your address, please also send an email to
membership at theexiles.org so we can change our address on file for you as
well.
